On one of my sl o s i was adusting the tail and the servo "snapped" e.g i herd a spapping sound. Can I fix it? or does it need to be a new servo?

depends on the servo... if you were forcing the servo, you may have killed the gears... if it is a good servo, gears can be replaced.. if it is a cheapo, then pitch it....

You can open up the servo to verify if the gears are broken.....

Gears don't get displaced. If this is the stock servo, or for that matter, any servo, you need to look at every gear on it under a magnifing glass. If you heard a snap, sonething broke. The gears are mounted on shafts, they can't move, other then rotating.
If they are the stock servos, you can buy rebuild kits from Horizon, for the gears.
