Default Converting my Parkzone Slo-v to computer TX

Hello all

I have a Slo-V. I am buying a computer radio soon. I haven't made up my mind but it will either be a Polk's Hobbies Tracker III or a Optic 6. I am going to convert my Slo-V to the computer radio.

I must note that I have had no troubles with my Slo-V or the included TX. This is just a new project to see if it flies any better with the new radio.

Will I be able to set up this combo so that the left stick on the computer TX is throttle and the right sticks are evelator/rudder?

Any help will be appreciated.

TIA

If your radio is V tail mixing equipt, no problem. or you can buy a mixer seperately.
You will notice a much improved response when you make the switch.

All of the Txs I am looking it have v-tail mixing. I just wanted to have the rudder and elevator on the right stick.

The radio will be that way, if you check , the left stick is not spring loaded in the up and down position, it's the throttle. .If you follow the instructions on your Tx rt stick will control all V-tail functions. And yes depending on how you hook up your servos to the Rx you can have rudder/elevator on the same stick.
Using a 3 channel radio, left thumb got stupid, as all it did was run the throttle. When I converted 3 channel birds to 4 channel, I set mine up to run the ailerons and elevator off the rt stick and the rudder and throttle off the left.

If you are not having any problems with your Slo-V, why change it? You will spend a bunch of money and you will just have the one Slo-V. How much better do you think it will fly because you have a different brand of servo???????

For $65 or less you can get a second plane and put all the new electroncis in that. Then you have two planes. You can advance your skills and have lots more fun!

Here are some for your consideration:

Magpie - CL 2
I recommend the $55 package with two wings.
Has slow fly/trainer wing AND an aileron sport wing.
Master the first, then advance to the second.
They offer a complete package with both wings and all the electroncis for $160
Makes it so easy to get it right!

Remember that these planes all take micro components. The Optic is typically packaged with BIG heavy components so they will not be suitable for these planes.

If you want a larger plane, consider the Magister:

This plane is much larger than the others

Actually, I am planning on having some surplus gear and wanted to see how the Slo-V would fly on new servos. I know the quality of the new gear will be better than the Parkzone gear. This is not a jab at Parzone, just a realization that the gear in these planes is inexpensive. Nothing I will change is irreversible. However, I must admit that I haven't had any problems with the Parkzone gear at all.

I am going to be getting a new plane soon. I am planning on building a Stevens Aeromodel Squirt 700 trainer. This plane will be flown at a club.
