NQD Flying Fortress
I was Always going to get a Flying rc..
I wanted something Cheap, that if it crashed and burned I wouldnt get to upset .
So I found this " Flying Fortress" Set up e-bay to bid while I was at work...
So I set my limit ($35)
I came home to find I had won it for $58AUS delivered.. The ones in the store similiar to this one ( Twin Engined) were at $90AUS
So I am pretty happy with it..
Its 70cm long with a 105 cm Wing Span
four Type 180 motors
Battery and Charger with Radio gear
Some minor Assembly
Its a 2-Channel Glider... not a real Plane...
All Up I am Pretty Happy..
I have watched several of the same type of Aircraft go for as Much as $80 + Delivery so I think I got a Good Deal.
I dont Expect to much out of it..
Then again For Under $100AUS I dont expect it too..

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
Your Price Which is $4.99 + $29.99 Postage = $ 47.8054 AUD
As you can tell from the Purchase of it.. I am a Complete Noob at flying so forgive me for the Slight stuff up..
I just knew it was a Fortess of some kind..
I had Watched the Auctions on this Sort of Planes before and On E-bay Australia the were Going for More then what I got it For..
So Regardless of what You can get it for in The States, they were selling Downunder for a Lot more then That ..
At Last Auction it went for $45.50 + $26 Postage,, so I am extremely happy with the price I paid for it...
This One Here is going for $47 + $17 Postage !

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
At The Price of What i paid for this thing, It would Probably have Cost the same as what the Radio Gear for a Slow stick would have cost..
They dont offer a " Buy it now " on this one and All the other ones are smiliar in appearance but are your Typical Twn Engined Jobs..
This one has more Flair and Style an approximate speed of 7 Metres a Second
Sure It is Not a Real Plane, I knew that when I bought it but at least I will get airbourne..
a Vid of Its Maiden flight will come as soon as the wind dies down and It actaully arrives..
if it Crashes and Burns into oblivion.. I wont be too concerned..

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
Well it Does Fly...
first attempt lost it in a persons pool Yard
Snapped off 3 Props..
It does have enough power to pull the plane through the air and does it Pretty quickly...
Any one know of some Decent Props I could use to replace the Crappy ones on this thing!

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
Hey Magnat,
I too own the NQD "B-52" and have had to replace more than one prop. Go to www.hobbypeople.net and the replacement props for their 'Tiger Shark' model will fit fine on your NQD. Here in the US it's $3.50 for a pack of 4 props. They measure out exactly the same and the pitch looks identical, only difference I could see was the 'Tiger Shark' props are black, not grey.
How is your radio range on your model? Mine is only good for a couple hundred feet before I lose signal completely...
Cheers,
Joel

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
Well as Far as Range is Concerned, I got approx 600metres Which is a Tad More then what they said , 150Metres..
But I would have to say Getting it to fly in the First place would be Easier if I Dropped it off a 12 Story Building as 90% of the time, it would nose Dive or Vere off on a Bad angle.. Hence How the Props Snapped
I could not Find there Tiger Shark Model on their page...
May be its Deleted??

RE: NQD Flying Fortress
Hey Magnat,
Try 'Tigershark' ( all one word spelling) and look there...
BTW, my 'B-52' flies well, just goes kinda haywire as soon as it gets approx 50-75 metres away...
Give your bird a good heave at launch and it should climb at a shallow angle.
I've epoxied the heck out of my bird and it still flies O.K....
Cheers,
Joel
