Default TM400 aileron fitting

I've noticed that unlike the E-Starter manual, the TM400 manual does not tell the builder to ensure that the aileron ends of the torque rods are level with the hinge line. I would expect that this is necessary but they do not line up with the centre of the wing edge (to be more specific, the white line exposed by the aileron cut). The wing may look ugly if I start to sand out the grooves to let the rods drop down lower. What does anyone think about this ?

Thanks

Default RE: TM400 aileron fitting

From memory I don't think mine lined up either but it still flew well. Its not such a bad thing to cut them out a bit. With use, the foam will start to compress leading to sloppy linkages. Someone else advised to cut a little of the foam away and fill it in with a bit of epoxy around the linkages. Result: slop free for a LONG time . I did this as a retro fit and it is worth it !!!!

Besides, once it's flying you won't really notice it too much (esp. with a brushless upgrade like mine).
