Landing Gear for Stryker?
I'm considering buying a PZ Stryker, but the thing that's holding me back is that I hate hand launching and the Stryker doesn't come with landing gear. Has anyone successfully added landing gear to the Stryker?

RE: Landing Gear for Stryker?
Hmm- that would be kinda neat.. I gotta say, with no landing gear, the plane sure belly lands nice. But, still, if you want a gear- I think it is certainly doable- I'm trying to think of whether a tail dragger or tri-pod would be easier to implement.. Maybe tri-pod gear, like a trainger.. I think you could mount the back wheels by the COG on the wing, and put the additional servo for a steerable wing up in the front section- but then you'd need to switch over to conventional radio to get the rudder channel for steering duties. Maybe a tail dragger setup would allow a steerable wheel linkaged to one of the elevons?
Also, have you seen somewhere in one of these forums, a bunch of folks have made catapult launching systems on the cheap, outta PVC pipe.. You put your plane on one of these launchers, get it ready to go, grab your transmitter, and hit the launch pedal with your foot! Then you are airborne!!

Don't let lack of a landing gear keep you from purchasing the Stryker. You are missing out on a lot of fun!
Hand launching is not a problem at all and it lands nicely -- it glides perfectly when landing.
