No. . . Just glue the existing panel into the fuselage (the one with 3 holes in it). If you pull on it, it will come out.
and GLUE VELCRO ONTO FUSELAGE, and the OTHER PIECE OF OPPOSING VELCRO ONTO THE FLAT PIECE OF PLASTIC BRACING. In this way, YOU CAN REMOVE THE VELCROED PLASTIC-BRACED REAR LANDING GEAR.
The only reason I say glue the velcro is because the velcro tape comes off when it gets wet.

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub on Floats!
Hobbyzone SuperCub on Floats REAR LANDING-GEAR BRACE is a flat piece of plastic with velcro glued to it. The fuselage has velcro glued to it as well. The rear landing gear is completely removable. Just a bit more s-s-s-s-S-S-O-L-I-D with velcro holding it's brace to the fuse.
Notice on my wall in the closet are my accomplishments: College degree, foam filled fuses, and FLOATS for the Super Cub.
Note: Under My fuselage you'll see 2 shapes of velcro. The larger SQUARE SHAPE is for my Floats Rear Brace and the thinner strip can be used for my velcro-SONIC COMBAT MODULE. Long story. Usually velcro my sonic combat module to a PZ P-51. . .thanks again flyinlo and bigtone for the tips. Hope this helps you readers out there. THESE removable FLOATS ARE FUN!!

wow, great set up there, im definately gonna go your root. i dont think ill use metal, because it can rust unless its like aluminum, so ill just use some plastic because its durable and lighter. ill defs use the velcro set up though, and i just really like the simplicity of it overall. great work! and thanks soo much for the help and pictures.

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub on Floats!
ever think about putting water rudders on a float setup- if its been done, pics and results would be nice. Also if someone has measurements of a good setup it would be appreciated.. already bought the floats/and a eflite 450/20a esc/ 11.1v lipo and dont even own the plane yet.. (Christmas present - wife holding out). Look forward to hassle free flying - got put off from glow planes years ago.. was thinking the 20a esc is a little small for the 450 but everyone seems to tell me its ok - advice. Will probably build a second with above gear from parts, see how the first one goes.

I tried a rudder extension on my Super Cub but it didn't work out so well. I think I just need to come up with a new design.

ive put a rudder on the back of mine, and it works excellent. when u come in for landing DO NOT USE ANY RUDDER WHILE 6 INCHES ABOVE WATER. this will highly reduce the risk of tip overs.

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub on Floats!
itll be up soon, havin so probs with my comp uploading pics, but for now ill describe. its a 2-3mm thick piece of clear plastic you can pick up at ur local Home Depot (or whatever home hardware store) thats about a thumb to middle finger length(using an "L" shape with ur thumb for correct measurements) that i drilled a hole through that is just large enough for the back wheel gear. its a rectangular shape, and just cut with a plastic cutting knife. it does not have to be a smooth design because its very thin. the width is 3/4 inch so that you get proper turning radius in the water, but not enough to affect handling in the air. to keep it from wobbling around on the tailwheel gear while in the air, i simply put the rudder on WITH the tailwheel, then putting the cap back on to secure it and the wheel from falling off. i will post pictures, give it another week or so.

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub on Floats!
Ran two LiPo's in man made Lake today at sunset. Lake is HERE: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...wloc=addr&om=1
I found that at 1/2 throttle on the water I can get away with steering okay. Taking off, it's full throttle and up elevator at first. THEN NUETRAL STICK to get it up on step, and FULL UP ELEVATOR ONCE MORE to lift away, with a trail of rippling drops of water dripping off the pontoons to the lake below. Frickin' Sweet and beautiful to behold.

that'll be off balance though just take a flat piece of plastic from home depot and cut it into a fin shape. Then just drill a whole through one end and take off back wheel cap off, place rudder on WITH tail wheel to secure it on well, then just use that, its much simpler

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub on Floats!
I just bought the Super Cub for my brother since he is learning to fly. I was thinking of getting the GWS floats for me to have a little fun with. Are these still the ideal floats for this plane? The GWSFOAT535 model?
Also, what are the differences between the $10.50 GWS floats and the $8.92? The $8.92 pair look better since they have the red sticker on it...kinda matches up with the plane...

I would think that HobbyZone would have started making a kit that fits into this plane to make some extra money on accessories.

i am new andtrying to add home aid floats to my super cub and i was wondering the affects of crashlanding it in water with the electrical systoms.
