Barrel rolls with Beaver GWS
How do you do barrel rolls without ailerons?, I've tried but my strut came loose and the wing snapped at about a hundred feet.
It was pretty neat though. Thanks

Barrel rolls with Beaver GWS
Start something like 5-6 mistakes high; pull up a little, then full left and down. As you're heading down, reduce throttle to reduce wing flutter (no wind days are better) once you're inverted, you might wan to give a little down elevator to regain pitch, blip the throttle, then conitune with the roll with reduced throttle as it descends. By the time you're done you should have bled off something like 3/4 of your original altitude ;-) can be done, but not pretty. (struts should be glue/secured enough so that it won't pop out, of course)

Barrel rolls with Beaver GWS
Get a 8 cell nimh battery, I use the wattage 8 cell 800mAh battery. Get a 1080 prop from gws and make sure you have a 5a speed control or higher, I use the gws ics-100. This setup will give you 13 oz of thrust. Make sure you have lots and I mean lots of rudder throw. You will barley have to dive with this setup to do a roll. My friends beaver with this setup will do torque rolls. Good luck.

YOU DON'T?
Come on guys, if you can't barrel roll it, it's not an airplane!
First get some altitude, then....
Full throttle, slight dive for speed, gently bring the nose up to 15 degrees above the horizon, then full LEFT stick with a little back pressure, ALL THE WAY 'ROUND, DON'T PANIC! and release.
Works every time.
Oh yeah, epoxy the struts, save the GWS glue for the other stuff.
