Default Beginner's SDM "Yellow Bee" Park Flyer

Hello All,

I am interested to find out if any one else owns one of these SDM Yellow Bees, It was really affordable at $40.00 and was easy to assemble.

I am a total noob and was impressed by how simple assembly was, basicly you attach the wing and the tail and charge the battery. It included the transmitter
and a screwdriver and two extra props. As they are behind the wings I imagine I will be replacing wings faster than props but....for 40 bucks,,,heh heh.

23" L x 31-1/4" W x 5" H (tail/wing tips)
flight time 20 mins
range 1,640 ft
weight 1.7 lbs

purchased here: http://www.harborfreight.com (search for item number 92304)

_will updATE this post after i get a chance to test it more, i was advised to avoid trying to land it on concrete,,, grass only for this thing me thinks.

hmmm...only negative so far is no led indicator to tell you when battery is charged, instructions are vague, they say battery is charged when it becomes warm....
lol. We shall see

peplinsk:: She won't turn well till you power down, Two- three hours to charge, flys well enough & take off's & landings are a hoot, your bub, scoooper

Thanks! Nice pix

The battery was very warm aftter about 90 mins so I unplugged it. (did not charge the full 3 hrs) ya think I should charge it more before my first try at it?
I noticed the batterys are ni mh, I have only used them in cameras, and have always liked them. All my helicopters are lipo and require cool down time
before recharge.

Hey later on down the line I would like to find a foamie that has a power supply you can charge off your auto's cigg lighter socket. Any links
on ready out of the box or almost readys with that feature would be swell!

Thanks in advance,

-peplinsk

peplinsk::: It comes partly charged, 90 min's was about right, depending on dischare state the next time might take longer, I set a timer ( El-cheapo from discountstore, about a buck) and check on it every 45 min's, also a cheap eletcrical tester ( bout ten bucks) is an investment as it'll tell you exactly the charge state thier at, I can charge all these planes at the field with my trust'y 12 volt batt, Hobby-zone has a cheap varable rate charger that plugs in your car or adapter, I plug-in differant adaptrers for my differant batt's, I hope you have a ball with her as I have , your bub, scoooper

WOW!

It flew really awesome! It was quite responsive and survived two rough landings, lol. The field was pretty muddy

I would reccomend this plane to ANYONE! it's really fun!

"Hooked" doesn't even come close, LOL.
Im already shopping for a traveling charger system and more
battery packs!

I went to a local flying field and had a blast! I was a guest and am considering joining.
The people were all very kind and had a wide range of aircraft. I ended up hanging out for
5 hours and smiling so much my face still hurts. ROFL My kid is 8yrs old and already
has more flying time than me

Man! I gotta say, this is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. (lol dont tell me people fly naked cause I dont want to visualize that) rofl
oh yeah.
Definitely hooked. line and sinker.

your noobest pal,
peplinsk
