Tim,
Let me know when you design a crash proof model, or at least one that holds up to trees.
You know me, mine get damaged everytime I crash one.[X(][:@]
darticus, have you looked at something like a Slow Stick? Can be flown at a walking pace, will fly in a small area if need be, and although you can brak one, it is pretty rugged.

Before you try the Slow V in your back yard, try to fly it someplace really large. In a back yard, you get to the end VERY fast, no matter how slow the plane is and you don't have time to react. Once you're familiar with the plane, you may be able to fly it in a smaller place. I learned slowstick on a big field near our house: baseball diamond plus 2 soccer fields. I used to use all of that space and usually still do, but if I really want to I can keep it in the baseball infield.

007, my little cessna is on order. Ron, GG is being facetious, I have broken just about everything possible on my slow stick. That said it does fly well.
I have not spent much time at this site, edge rc, but they are about smaller planes. Tim

Not sure how crash proof you need, as NOTHING is really tree proof and eventualy it gets crunched.
Pick up an ESTES SKYRANGERS from Toys R Us. 20.00 and it is complete and ready to fly out of the box. I love mine

What about this one?

I once found an American manufacturer also with a EPP+Depron Cessna which looked OK.

These are way better than Airhogs imho (see URL). I believe they're also marketed under Venom Planes at LHS - i know I've seen them over at HobbyTown USA under that label here in CA.
I dunno about flying in a dense suburbia due to transmission interference but other than that the turning radius isn't so hot but it will withstand harsh flight...

Venom makes a couple micro flyers, very rugged, stepped on mines once and the fly very well 2 channel. I got one for my son to learn how to fly. its a lot better then an Air Hog.

The Venom's are much more money is that why their better? They look good. Are they only available at hobby stores or Walmart? Anyone fly some of these?
