electric "Piece o' Cake"
Can any of you help me?
I built a "piece o cake" about two years ago. It is a large wingspan (6') balsa plane that is made to have a cox .049 engine.
It only has two servos, and no throttle control.
I would like to convert it to electric. Can any of you give me any ideas on motors, mounts etc.?
Thanks

As I remember the Piece of Cake it was a light, balsa, built-up construction plane. It was modeled after its contemporary gliders.
It would seem a good candidate for a 400 DD electric motor and a 15 amp ESC, neither of which is very expensive.
A 3 channel or greater radio would work for RET and an 8 cell HE Nimh battery should complete the picture.
This would be one of several possible solutions... probably the least expensive.

pcpacker gave some good advice.
With a few years on a stock Electra, the only thing I would suggest different is to use a gear drive and folding prop.
