Default Slow Stick Brushless Conversion.

Seems my motor, mount, and prop had an unscheduled landing today.

Said landing was somewhere I wasn't looking, as I was busy trying to land a plane with a very far back CG. Which I actually did.

Sooooo... Where can I get a complete, ready to go, simple brushless conversion?

Default RE: Slow Stick Brushless Conversion.

EASIEST way is to get the combo that pops up on the banner ads here I think. Tower Pro or BP or whatever brandname it is, get the 18A brushless ESC and BP-21T or 12T or whichever motor (comes a "gearbox" style plastic motor mount) for $15-$19 total cost. Yup. You can use nimh or 2-3cell lipo too. This will simply replace your old motor/gearbox and brushed ESC. Go to bphobbies.com BP-12 or 21 motor + 15A or 18A ESC. I think they are out of stock on some items, but keep checking. I have the older version 15A ESC and the BP-21 outrunner motor (limited to 13A max) on my Slo-V (similar plane). Good for about 150 watts (almost goes vertical fresh off the charger) using a GWS 8x4.3 prop (pulls just over 13 amps) using a 3-cell TP 910 or 1320mah lipo battery. OR use your old 6 or 7 or 8 cell nimh battery, or a 2-cell lipo with the GWS 9x4.7 or 10x4.7 prop for about 100 watts @ 13 amps, which still hauls it around real nice. If your motor can handle more than 13 amps, you can up those numbers by another 10 or 20 watts. With the 3-cell lipo combo I get about 10-15 minutes of mixed flying. With a 2-cell 1900mah lipo I get over 20 minutes.
