Default GWS Zero's battery compartment...

I am in the process of enlarging the hole in front of the cockpit for a bigger battery. I am tempted to just take a ******* file and file away the foam from the front of the cowl. Is there a better clever way to do the job without making a mess of the foam? Perhaps there is a better place for the battery pack?

Default cutting foam

A file is not going to do you any favors. Most likely it will just tear up the foam and leave a big mess.
Use a soldering gun with a flat tip to cut through the foam you want to remove. You can finish any rough surfaces with some fresh 100-120 grit sandpaper.
