RE: Badius Owners Club III
That said, I ordered the bug.
Randy, if the wind and rain stay away, the su is the main goal this weekend. The new plan is for 75% rates and just throw it. I have already repaired it twice, so the bloom is off the lily. I have the bl motor for it on the shelf. I assume that I have to reposition the shaft. But, if I prang the plane again, that will not be a question.

Nice lotto prize, Ken! I'm gonna sit this one out, 'cause I already have one. I kept my eyes open where I used to work. Every time they threw out a bad soldering station, I grabbed it. Finally, I had enough parts to assemble a good one. I've been in electronics since 1982, and I like Weller the best!
Guys, The soldering station being lotto'ed is great to use because it has a thermostatically controlled temperature. If you have an ordinary soldering pencil of more than 40 Watts, the tip gets TOO hot so that an oxide forms and turns your solder to carp. Makes it hard to solder. Take it from me guys - play to win, you WANT this soldering station!
A note to whoever wins - never file or sandpaper the tip! It's plated to protect the copper inside. Believe it or not, copper slowly dissolves in hot solder and flux! Just wipe the tip on the wet sponge and it's good to go. If you break through the plating on the tip, the copper will gradually erode and it'll be like a cavity in a tooth.

Thats right! I do not take no bribes unless it is some kind of plane or tx or something like that. Then i will be happy to tell you and willing to pay for the soldering thing, lol.
If i can find a IFO with everything for sale $150 or less im sold. lol its funny because my slow stick was pretty much free. I had so much junk i didnt use at home and sold it on ebay and currently after buying the ss have about $500 in my paypal. I also got a moto krzr for sale and psp which is another $250. So its like my bank for rc and other stuff. My dad says since i took the time to sell it and i made the money he doesnt care what i spend it on. I dont wanna splurge though since thats kinda mean.

For some reason i like the kite or round shaped planes. I think they are awsome. I liked the critter a lot on bphobbies. I dont wanna waste money on it though. I want to make sure i get a good deal. And example is my slow stick. I have no regrets buying it(even though i havent built it yet) because i only paid $70 for the tx-ss kit-rx-esc-servo-battery-charger-and other stuff. If i go and sell this plane now, i can get easily $200. That is what makes me happy. I usally never buy anything at regular price. I research for days online ebay, google everywhere to find the cheapest, then i find codes for like free shipping. I know thats wierd what i do but it saves me bundles.

Wee, that's the same route that I go, most of my computer time at home is spent researching, trying to find a good deal or three. You should see my book marks older,,, it takes days to go through all of them. Categories & sub categories. By the way, how old are you? I'm wondering if you might be the youngest in our group now. Ryan (Iflycae) was holding that position, but he's starting college, so you might be holding that spot if you're younger than he is.

Oh, and what Dan said about the Weller tips is very very true. That tip that's on my soldering station ( exactly the same as the one I'm looto-ing) has been on there since I was working for my dad back in 2000. Just keep cleaning the tip on the wet sponge & it will last forever. Just drop the temp setting down when you're not using it, Kick it up when you need to use it, give it a quick wet wipe & ready to solder. And I did the same thing with my old weller pen, I got some of the oxide on it, & scraped it off with a hobby knife, that scraped soe of the plating off, from there the tip went crappy very quickly.
OK, so it is now 12:08 AM Eastern time. Official start of January 11th, guess away guys,,,

I'll guess #68
Yes, I discovered that grinding your soldering tips is not good![:@][:@]
Went to Ace hardware, $10 for 2 tips. I found a different one for $12 at Menards that has 4 different tips that I will buy if I don't win this nice prize.

Congrats to the weinners and good luck to all on this one
Doug another very nice addition to your hanger, sharp,, very sharp [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
Phil glad they made it OK, I think your going to like the 8.5X8 props, use them on a 950 to 1200 KV motor, but watch your amps on a 1200
No real plane stuff going on right now but I hope to get started on the ES this weekend, boy do I have special plans for it .
I think ya'll will be impressed with this one, hopefully I can unvail it in a couple weeks

Hiya guys - no flying today but tomorrow is the Biggie - testing the changes I made on 5 planes. A question: how do you fund the lotto, who actually buys the prize and is there an entry fee? No one has mentioned this at all!! See you all later, more I-net shopping to do.
WWB Fahim - first you shall be called "Fahim" from now on, by me at least, and I think everybody should do the same Second, don't buy the IFO-type kite thing that Ferndale bought, its inferior in parts and frequency etc. Click on this for the original Kites - but don't buy one (far too expensive!!!) www.goflykite.com I built mine but it wasn't easy, and they are fun and always gather a crowd Personally, save your money fo something bigger and better using the TX you've already got. My suggestions would be GWS Beaver, j3Cub, Pico Stick, Parkzone Super Cub (excellent) - something that flys, is easy to repair, good spares and cheap to build - but get used to the Stick first. OK, see ya all later.....

Tam, with the lotto, as far as funding it, it's just kind of one of those things, if you have the extra stuff or $ and you feel like gicing stuff away. No entry fee beyond being part of the group for a while.
