Default GWS P-51D Mustang Problem

Hi Guys,
I just got my P-51D together and its a sweet looking plane, but I'm having a problem. When I hand launch the plane I find it rolls over the the right and then I crash. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Default GWS P-51D Mustang Problem

how experienced are you with rc.
if you are a newbie then this is probably not the model for you.
check the lateral balance and if necessary add a little weight to the light wingtip.
make sure the control surfaces are set neutral and let it build up speed before pulling up, it may be tipstalling.
check the centre of gravity also

Default P51 roll issue

Hi there,

Thanks for the information. I've been flying a Tiger Moth and a E starter from GWS. I did some work on the battery, by moving it to the left of the plane and adjusted the trim. It seems to help.

Also, thanks for the tip on not pulling on the elevator. It appears this plane has a very high stall speed.

Left?
This is not the best plane to go from the TM in....

- Battery should be in the middle.
- Be sure to set the CG properly. When in doubt, set it forward.
- Launch only under full power and with a gentle toss at a shallow angle
- Launch into the wind.
- Make sure you have enough battery.. My fav is 8 cell NIMH 720.

This plane will fly nice, but its a big step up from the TM (though a lot easier than the zero!)
