Speed 400 on a Slow stick?
After breaking my motor mount, ordering 3 replacements (I am sure it will happen again) and repairing my slow stick, I started wondering if I would be able to place a speed 400 motor in my stick. Is a speed 400 motor bigger in size or would it fit in the motor mount designed for my Speed 300 stick?
Thanks

A standard speed 400 also hardly has enough power to fly a SS. However, GWS's 400 motor & gearbox works pretty well. It is heavier though, and does pull a little more battery power. Go for the "F" or "G" motor & gearbox setup with a 12 x 6 prop.

I assume then, that they make a speed 400 assembly that fits the slow stick stick? I will definitely need to get a better ESC. I had anticipated getting the Castle Creations pixie 20 amp for my future endeavor into lithium as it has programable cutoff voltages. I would imagine I would toast my current 5 am GWS ESC.

Yep, EPS 400C. Just a larger version of the 300 assembly. It fits the stick fuse just like the 300.
My experience with it (5.28:1) is that it doesn't really come into its own until you run it on 10 cells. Then it is a really nice motor with a 12 x6 prop.
