If anybody's still out there....

I made my 1st attempt at flight last week with the J-3 Cub BL & bent the shaft. I took it to LHS & the kid there stripped the setscrews on the motor trying to loosen them.

Has anybody got an old burned out BL motor or 2 that would be willing to part with? Seems cruel to pay $37 for a new motor. I'd be happy to pay any costs incurred for shipping, etc.

Thanks.

Chuck

Chuck

Thats too bad about the set screws being stripped..

I have a brushless motor I got from HobbyCity...and will never use

not sure if its a bolt on...and if the prop adapter will work...it's 1600kv so it's more powerful the the stock brushless motor...

The stock motor is easier...this might work.

Hey, Tony. Thanks for the offer.

I got a new BL motor & the tools for the set screws (1.3mm!) yesterday. I tried to drill out the setscrews & it didn't go well! So I only need a new outrunner front section for the original BL as mine has about 45 seconds on the windings & then I'd have a spare.

I liked the looks & specs of that motor but the mounting didn't look like it would fit the Cub w/o mods. Maybe that puppy would make it take off like the video! I've got a 3S LiPo I'm using on the heli & I'm tempted to reprogramm the ESC for it & give that a try!. I chickened out this morning - just couldn't bring myself to go to the park & try again. Maybe next week they'll grow back LOL

Thanks again for the offer.
