Hi CrazyChris,
What is your flying experience? Ducted fan planes need to be flown FAST, which makes them a bad choice for a beginner plane. Additionally, the plane that you have is a 2-channel, which makes it that much more difficult to control. I doubt if it will be very succesful, but I have been wrong before. Good luck and let us know how it goes. For your first flight, get someone to launch it for you. Have them run and then launch it HORIZONTALLY so that you can let the plane gain as much speed as possible. Being a 2-channel, the fast launch should let it start to climb on its own.

RE: anyone seen these at wal mart?
thanks for the tips. my experience with planes is somewhat limited to air hogs and equal types of planes. you know the small backyard type fliers. however last summer i did successfully mod the electronics from my eflite blade cx-2 into a from scratch homeade plane. at the feild at first it kept nose diving. so i slowly moved the wing back until it glided nicely. i eventually had it flying and it had great control. so id guess my experience is just above begginer. i understand the principles of flight. but i prolly wont be taking this thing out for a flight until the spring as its all snow and ice here, the cold will make things more brittle and the ice and snow might do further damamge to the jet. id rather bite my lip and wait till the spring when i have nice grassy fields to fly it in. i did add landing gear and have been thinking of taking it out to a big parking lot and do a few rog hops with it to get a feel for it. but i agree that it might be difficult to control with the 2 channel setup. i noticed that the rudder doesnt really have alot of left or right travel. im thinking of putting the electronics from my cp+ into it and adding elevator and alerons to it. not sure yet if i will but it would be a great upgrade to an already nice designed jet. later, chris
