Default Herr StarLite

Hi Scootter - the original was designed for a Wes-Technik Micro DC5-2.4 geared about 8:1 and running a 23cmx12cm carbon fiber prop on an 8-cell 50mAh NiCd pack - you can get this geared coreless motor system and prop from www.microrc.com.
I use a 5:1 ratio and the 16cmx12cm prop with an 8-cell 120mAh NiMH pack.

I know that others have gone the cheaper route and simply use the GWS IPS motors - a lot more weight up front but from the reports I've seen they fly okay.

There are several flight reports on Herr StarLites (I know Dave Robelen has written one in one of the electric flight magazines. I know that I have it somewhere, but can't put my hands on it right now).

Cheers, Phil
