xpv vs mini xpv
I have seen that many people like the mini xpv but I'm not so sure about the xpv. How much bigger is the xpv? Can it be flown indoors? Is it as durable as the mini? I'm looking to train on something before I go and try my HZ super cub.
Oh yeah...I saw that there were deals on these at x-mas time for like $10! Anybody know where to get a good deal on one right now, or am I out of luck until christmas again.
Thanks

RE: xpv vs mini xpv
nikg,
I rec'd a xpv for christmas this past year. It was what awakened the boy who wanted to fly in me. [8D]
No' the xpv cannot be flown indoors. I haven't flown the mini, but the xpv was very hard to fly.
You have to get the balance right (wingtip to wingtip) I would use a penny or two and tape them
to the "sweet-spot" on the right wing to even it out. Without it , it would flip over to the right after
10 feet and I could only turn to the left to keep it upright. [:@] With it I could turn left or right. I got pretty
good, ROG's no problem and could keep it in the air for a couple of minutes at a time
I wish some one would have told me about the left to right balancing because the xpv took a big
pounding with the ground. Repairs weren't too bad, you'd be amazed how much glue and tape
it could hold and still make it off the ground.
Don't forget, there's no control surfaces on either one. You control up or down with the trottle and
left or right is by shutting down or slowing one motor, what I call skid-steer. ( 2 channel)
Good luck!
