RC Yo-Bo (annular wing!)
have any of you played with a Yo-Bo? its an annular (circular) winged toy. It is like a hollow foam cylinder with a reflexed airfoil. If not, have you ever played with one of those cylindrical paper planes? they fly great dont they! What about an annular winged RC plane, using something like a GWS ducted prop. Maybe 9" around and 12-14 long. Control surfaces could be elevons inside the back of the cylinder. Paint it like a coke can and it would become a flying coke can! Roll stability would be difficult, initially keel effect could be used until you could determine what kind of vanes were needed inside. Once im done with my backyard 3D plane posted beside this ill try one of these.
any other ideas?

oh yeah, and think about the speed. if you were careful, drag could be made very small. The neat thing about annular wings is negligible induced drag. No wing tips, no tip vortices.
