Default Parkzone Corsair charger...

i want to buy the Parkzone Corsair but i noticed that the battery charger that comes with it is only DC input... i saw on eBay, someone is selling an AC to DC adapter... it looks like an adapter wall plug with a cigarette lighter plug... i was wondering if i can use this so i don't have to be in the car to charge the battery...

those adapters will work, if they are rated with a high enough output! check the specs on the one listed on ebay to be sure it will handle the batt charger. you can also go to radioshack or (cheaper) wallmart to get an adapter. once again, make sure it will run the charger.

the charger input is rated at 10.5-15v 3amp with a maximum charge rate of 2amps... is it possible to use a 12v 1.2amp adapter if i only set the charge rate at it's lowest setting which is 0.3amp...?

i'm not very good with these numbers, etc., but i think the adapter you are looking at is designed for low output items like cell phone chargers and things like that. i think you would have difficulties using this adapter with the batt charger, even at it's lowest setting. plus, the charger that comes with the corsair is not the best, and it would take forever to charge you packs at the lowest setting even if you could get it to work. probably not worth the effort. check around at places like hobbycity, you can get decent chargers that will work great for less than the price of this adapter (i have seen them from $10-15 dollars). you could always save the pz charger for long drives in the car. r.

i have an old computer power supply... the 12v rail is rated at 13amps output... as i said before, the input for the charger is only 3 amps fused... does that mean that i have to provide it with exactly 3 amps or can i provide it with 13amps and it will only take out as much as it needs...?

success...! i just bought a blank socket from Radio Shack like you'll find in a car and just straight wired it to the computer power supply... the li-po is charging right now... best thing is i didn't have to cut and splice the charger's wire at all...
