GWS Mustang nose weight
Hello all,
I have a GWS mustang that is ready to fly except for balancing. I need to add a little nose weight to get it to balance at 3/4" in front of the bamboo spar (as recommended in a previous thread).
Anyway, I was wondering what to use for weight and how to attach it. Thanks.

Hi ChrisK,
Better not to add any extra weight if you can help it.
Why not rather move your battery pack a bit forwards, there's stacks of room in the Mustang if you cut a bit of foam here and there.
My battery packs are held on the top of the wing with velcro, so it's really easy to move them around and experiment with slight COG variations.

If you already have it assembled and don't want to dig out any more foam right now, I would suggest that you get some clay from Walmart craft section and mold it into the engine bay section of the nose.that's what I did, and it stays in place and can't be seen. Plus you can add or substract any amount you need to for balancing.Once the stang is tamed by correct balance it's a pleasure to fly.
The most important thing before the first flight is to have that c/g right. That's where most people have gotten in trouble.
Good Luck

huh?
3/4 in front of the spar? I read it was like 6mm in front of the spar...I haven't flown mine yet because I keep hearing different CG points...does anyone have a positive answer for me on where the cg is?
