Looking For a 5-7 oz Balsa Backyard (& Indoor) Flier
I thought I would put this question out there to see if anyone knows of a balsa kit or ARF that I can use for a large indoor and backyard flier. I've been searching and reading a lot of posts, but it seems like this size airplane is not the norm. There are indoor planes in the 3 oz range, and regular park fliers in the 10 plus oz range, but not any that I have found in the 5-7 oz AUW weight range. Except the Micro SSX, but I'm not to keen on its appearance.
Any leads would be appreciated.
Frank

Kevin,
That Li'l Rascal does look like a very nice plane. I have a SIG SSE which I am very please with. SIS has designed some very nice aircraft. Unfortunately, the Li'l Rascal is a tad too heavy for what I am looking for. I have a LoLo which weighs in at 8.2 oz, but looking for something just a tad bit lighter.
Thanks,
Frank

The StevensAero Micro Shaft is a sweet little plane.

The Mudbug is a cool little balsa plane too. The trexler balloon tires look great on it. Mine came in at around 5oz AUW.

The bug is definitely too small, but the micro-shaft might be the ticket. Thanks! I need to look into that.
Thanks again,
