GWS P51 Mustang websites
I recently finished the GWS P-51 and test flew it last night. Wow, am I surprised!
I haven't had much time to trouble shoot it yet, but it was basically out of control the whole flight. I'm lucky to have gotten it back down in one piece. I'm looking right now for flight reports on the darn thing. I'm hoping that I'm going to find a radio glitch at the root of the problem, but I don't know.
I remeasured the wingtip to horiz. stab tips to ensure a square wing, and I sighted down the wing to make sure the stab is parallel to the fuselage, and all looks right. The CG is right where it is supposed to be.
So, I'm stumped until I can get someone to help me do an indepth range check with motor running, etc.
By the way, I use the GWS100 ESC and noticed a couple of motor glitches during the brief flight. I really didn't like the kit design and the "English" instructions. The instructions are minimal, and I feel the kit is rather poorly designed from a builder's standpoint. It was a pain to build.
I'm really curious how others feel about the airplane.
