HZ Super Cub , add flaps in 5 minutes

I am very pleased with my HZ Super Cub , and watching the STOL videos on youtube and likeing them , I just wondered if my Super Cub could be slowed down a bit more flying and landing . Useing from the Hobbico Nexstar mini EP plastic parts bag which contains the stick on flaps , I installed them on my Super Cub , and added shipping type tape as a additional hold onto the wing .

Yes it slows the Super Cub down nicely , and shortened the landings also , and if made to stall while flying , it drops the nose downward nicely , not off to a side . I usually fly at about half throttle anyway .
It has enabled me to make MUCH better takeoffs and landings , looking good , and just calmed things down all around .

It does require elevator control arm adjustment for more down throw to counteract the flaps , note photo .

Well I really like the flaps addition , and its help for slower flight and landings , and if you do not like it's effect , just remove , and its back to orginial .
Parts bag under $10 dollars and less than 5 minutes to install

RE: HZ Super Cub , add flaps in 5 minutes

The "flaps" look very much like some dry wall corners I've seen at Home Depot and Lowe's. How are they actuated? Do they link to the elevator servo? Is there an additional servo involved? Any info would be appreciated. thanks Rich

They stick onto the wing , and remain in the same fixed position at all times .
Easy on and off , stick on and tape , and untape , unstick to remove .
I am sure that someone will make their own , cheaper , and maybe better .

But this was so easy , take from the bag , stick and tape on , and fly , enjoy the results .
