RE: FlyZone F4U Corsair 48.5 Inch Wing Span with Retracts!

The struts are all metal and are telescoping shock absorbing types with a metal outer tube and inner rod, the strut is inserted into a rather robust looking plastic upper "pivot". The gear is rotated via two bevel gears one non-moving at the side of the housing and the other attached to the strut and rotates against the fixed gear as the gear is raised and lowered (no plastic trunnion to take the load). The gear bay main doors are opened by cam type arms on each side and tension springs hold them closed, the front door is simply pushed open by the strut. See attached photo.

The retracts operate like the FW-190 and they slam open and closed so a servo slower would be useful here (my radio doesn't support servo speed).
The airframe is quite aerodynamically clean with fully enclosed gear and the control surface pushrods are all fully within the fuselage and wings.
The elevator control horn is at the center and so is hidden. The rudder is operated via a rod from the tailwheel that inserts into a slot on the bottom of the rudder.

The retracts are driven by separate servos as there's a Y cable installed and it isn't obvious where the servos are as there's no access panel so I conclude the servos are accessed by removing the retract unit
