Tower Hobbies Fun 51
Here is a fun plane to fly, and at $59.00 is a great deal. It flies better than it looks. I was a bit worried when building the kit, but after the first flight I knew I had a winner. I have 10 flights on it now, and am considering getting another to put away for later on. This is the only plane close to my old Hots planes. I'm sure having fun with my fun 51. I fly off a grass field at an elevation of 7,200 feet and the .46 OS LA flies it nicely. This plane can be set up as a 3D model with a little more power, but I'm a sport flier so don't need more power.

A member of our club has one, he bought at a swap meet for around ten bucks. He has beat that thing to death and it just keeps ticking! He has a 46 on it and it is ballistic, goes stright up and does maneuvers that leaves you just shaking your head. It has been bashed, crashed, beat up, rebuilt and flown again....one very tough aircraft. This little airplane puts the FUN back into flying, it shows you don't have to have one of the mega dollar ones to have ablast that leaves you giggling. Just bought a 40 size Uproar and two Dazzlers, one in a kit and another being an arf boy am I going to have fun. I may just add a Fun 51 to the pile to make it complete. Joe (Door Cty, Wi )

I have to agree with all of you. One on the best "fun fly" contest planes at our club. Last one sold to make room for an electric version to be built this winter. BTW, it flies just fine even on a 40LA.

I built the SIG Fazer, very*similar. *I have a Norvel .40 on it (plenty of power). *I had to add some tail weight to balance it (I HATE adding weight to a plane to balance)..If I had to build a second one, I'd shorted the nose by an inch or so.

I built one last year, and converted it to electric.
Two 2200mAhr 3 cell LiPo's fit nicely on each side of the nose.
It flew great, and I also flew it on skiis.
Nice kit, nice price, nice flier!!

Servos for the Fun 51
What size servos do I need for the Fun51, if I power it with the OS .40 LA
It's a pretty "wimpy" .40 engine....
I intend to use metal gears, cuz I'm sick of changing servos/gears!!
Is around 30 oz. in. of torque sufficient??
