Default Derby City Pro bro June 12-13, 2004

This is a reminder for those that need to ask for the days off now. I am still having the Derby City pro bro June 12 - 13, 2004 in New Albany, IN (located just across the Ohio River from downtown Louisville, KY). I already have many great prizes to give away, there might be a quick profile freestyle on Sunday that should prove entertaining and inspirational for 3D newbies. Right now I plan to have Walter Morris, Tony Ayers and Tom Stryker on hand to meet people. Walter of course started the original Morris Hobbies right here in Louisville, Tony Ayers was the guy flying in those now infamous videos, Tom Stryker is the designer of the sudokoi, balsa nova, spinsation and knife. We are also heavily considering a rather large cookout Saturday night at the field. We have an all grass runway that is in excellent condition, pictures may be seen at www.sircm.com under the 2003 flyin link. If you request additional information, a flyer will soon be available but you may email me at [email protected] Thanks and hope to see everyone, Jeff Williams

Well it was looking for a while like I would not be able to make this one, But with lots of whining and to what is going to cost an embroidery machine, It is looking like I might be able to make this one.

There are still many things that have to happen and plenty of variables, but I am going to have to rely on you guys for support and to supply reasons for why I can't possibly miss this event. (for wife ammunition)

In the spirit of keeping this as low budget as possible I will be flying standby on United using the employee (Laid off) travel benefits, eat once a day, and use a tent. I really hope it can all pan out.

My goal is to make this a do not miss event. Hope to have a huge turnout, the club field is big enough to handle it.

Embroidery machine: for your wife? My mom does a lot of sewing and works at a sewing store; if your wife is wanting a machine I mind be able to help somehow.... what is she looking at?

If I didn't interperet that right, please excuse me! (But i'll still help if I can! )

Lomcevek1, if you can't get a flight into Louisville, get one to Indy and ride down with me. Not much chance I'd miss this one.

Well Matlok thanks for the offer.

She is looking for a baby lock, or something around that line, she has been wanting one but never really thought she could get it and I was impervious to her whining until she laid down this little trade. She did buy me a new radio so I guess it is her turn.

So yeah if you can help please PM me, anyone else for that matter.

basmntdweller if it comes down to it I might take you up on your offer as well, While flying standby it is good to have options.

I have also read in other posts where a 3D clinic would be helpful. I think we could get that together easily. As of now, I want Saturday anything can be flown (like Nashville) but Sunday is totally 3D day and that Sunday afternoon will be a little freestyle, non competitive just a show us your stuff thing. The original Morris guys, well it will depend on their schedule but I do plan to have them there at least for an hour or two. Jeff

I love all those ideas Jeff. For me I am interested in the 3D Freestyle section.

You know it has just occured to me that I have broken rule #1 in post 5

Well it was looking for a while like I would not be able to make this one, But with lots of whining and to what is going to cost an embroidery machine, It is looking like I might be able to make this one.
Is there an exempt status for this rule if you are whining about coming to a Pro-Bro event ??????

This is gonna be one awsome Pro-Bro. I cant wait to see everyone there.

I really hope everyone can make it. This thing has been in the works for a long time and Im sure Jeff is gonna make sure this thing is truly awsome. I even heard he's gonna be giving away free Sledges to the first 25 attendees....do I have that right Jeff?

Well anyway....Im sure ot will be an awsome event. And even you Chuck Auger better be there. I dont want to hear anything about not being able to get the time off from work either

Well guys, it looks like I will not be able to attend the Derby City Pro-Bro event. I'm taking a temp job out in Ft. Leavenworth, KS for a few months...six, and extendable after that if the workload holds. I wish I could make it, but it looks like I'll be lucky if I can come home for Thunder...blessed if I can do our clubs Crusade event.

Jeff: I'm still good for the prize I offered. I'll make sure you get it.

Looks like we just picked up a huge sponsor in Coopers Custom Blend fuels. Brian Cooper will be there all weekend with the new PRO BRO BLEND 10% and 15% fuel for everyone to try. He is also giving away some fuel as prizes, we are accumulating a long list of prizes, this should be a cannot miss event of the summer.

Add one more guys, Mr. Gary Carver. He is the guy that has been airbrushing all these foamies of my designs that have been on RCU. He is setting up a booth and will be ready to airbrush a t-shirt or your plane, even if it is monokoted. So bring your foamies (or whatever) and Gary will airbrush them right there at the site while you wait. Jeff W.

He Know's. It's a shame we (collectively) cant be at both but I think more people would rather fly than watch someone else fly.
