E Sledge, Extra E330 & E Yak 54 info & pics
Many have been wondering more and more about my foamy designs, so I am creating this post for information and picture sharing. Right now I only have pictures of my E Sledge and E Yak 54, I will have the extra later this week when I get it back from the custom airbrush job. I also have a cap 232 that will begin testing this weekend. Right now the E Sledge, Extra E330 and E Yak 54 are complete with testing. I should have plans available around March 7 and kits are now ready. Please email me at [email protected] for more information, I prefer to handle all inquiries through my personal email. This post is for pictures and flight assessment information.
So far, I really cannot say which is my favorite, I only have about 4 flights on the Yak (not the one pictured in this post), numerous flights on the E Sledge and Extra E330. They are all excellent, I have found no bad qualities and I cannot believe how much these foamies will improve your overall skills.
Picture 1 and 2 are the E Sledge with the custom american flag airbush scheme and breaking off checkerboard on the bottom.
Picture 3 and 4 are the E Yak 54 with a custom airbrush job.

I know the airplanes fly great, and those two look real good too. I wish I lived closer so I could get one that looks as good without having to wait a month to get it. Tom

Ouch that was rough But funny !!!
I am also in love with the foamies but I am still in Love with the glow profiles.
I gave a demo for my daughters school witht the E-Sledge and This was the first time I flew this plane indoors and I must say WOW that makes it a little more challenging with barriers. The walls are big enough to hold one basketball court and let me say pucker factor is high with that many eyes on you !!!! Luckily the flight went well with only one crash due to the prop coming loose. But I was spent after. Now how do you fly with more than one plane in the air?
And here is my E-Sledge

I did not airbrush those foamies. However, I did take an airbrush class and am learning to do schemes. key key is pretty good with the airbrush, but the instructor of our class did the above airplanes. He will do one for anybody that wants a custom scheme whether it is my design or your own thing. Just send me your plane and for about 30 to 40 he will do a custom shceme. The Yak above is all freehand, he wants $35 for something exactly like it or similar. For the American flag, it requires hand cut stencils so it takes him longer and he wants $45 for that. If you have a scheme in mind, email me and I will get him to do it. He does awesome airbrush work and it the cheapest around. The price can be less it your desires are simple. Keep this in mind, if he can do the scheme freehand, it will be cheaper (30 - 35), if it requires stencils it will be (40 - 50) for airbrushed versions. However, to get a good cost number I have to see your scheme, or just send it in and he will devise something for you freehand for $35. Jeff Williams

Oh man....dont I know it. All of my new planes are coated with a micro layer of Kevlar......its extremely light yet extremely durable. I had a mid-air with a 35%er over the weekend and I kept flying and he hit the ground

Flew the new E Yak indoors (20mph winds today), all I did was hover/TR since I was in my basement with furniture and kids trying to play, but here are two shots. Jeff W.

Mavrick, I did not paint these foamies. Maybe someday, I took an airbrush class and I am learning but my instructor painted these, and he will do one for you too. Email me at [email protected] and I tell you more.
I flew the Yak outside this morning before the 20mph winds kick up today, I love it. Very predictiable, stable and KE is rock solid, virtually 0 coupling. Hover/TRs are so easy its boring, KE loops are solid, spins, blenders (upright and inverted) are beautiful. Guys do not wait if you are wanting a Yak, Extra or sledge in electric, these 3 planes are very sweet, I am starting to make kits and should have plans in about a week.

Matt, I have emailed the plans to the printer and he might have them ready by tomorrow afternoon (3-4). In which case I will get copies made and they will be ready by Friday. I will keep you posted. Jeff

My ShockFlyer comment was just a in joke between me and Mav...He wanted me to cut him out a 6MM Depron plane, then griped because at $4.95 less than a ShockFlyer, mine wasn't painted like a Shockflyer.
I told him to look up JWilliams, now Jeff can have the privledge.
I've read a lot of threads where guys were having "issues" with the ShockFlyers, IMHO these 6MM foamies are a whole different breed of dog.

Any interest in my foamies should be emailed to [email protected]. I hope to keep this thread to questions and flight reports. Obviously it will generate interest in ownership, that is fine I just prefer to handle that via email to the address above.
The airbrushed version to any of my planes is available, they certainly are going to be more than a mass produced shock flyer. However, you are getting a custom paint job. I will be happy to answer all inquiries at [email protected]. If you want to talk to me I email me your phone number and I will call you.
Plans, I will find out today if they printed properly. Earlier Thursday the guy said some if it was not correct but he may have had a setting incorrect, I had to go to work so I could not talk to him again.
As far as shock flyers go, I have not seen one in person so I cannot comment on the quality of them.
