OMP 80" Edge ARF has arrived!
I guess am one of the first few people to get my ARF? This thing is beautiful! Not one single flaw. Very, very light just like they said. I'll try to get some pics up soon, but I am very happy, this is one of the finest ARF's I have ever seen. Thanks OMP, it was definitley worth the wait. I'm going to go with MVVS 2.15, I'm just waiting for that to come in any day.
Hopefully I'll have this beauty up this weekend.
THANKS AGAIN!

I'm taking mine into school tomorrow so the Flight Club kids can help put it together. After building foamies they will now get to see an outdoor plane. I'll put pics on the schools website too.

Wow, FedEx was really quick this week! That's amazing. Everyone should know we at OMP inspected every ARF before they went out and we repacked each one with extra packing just to protect them against the shipping monkeys! Be sure to post pics guys!

RE: OMP 80" Edge ARF has arrived!
My OMP arrived today. First thing I did was stared at the box for a minute or 2. Man this thing is big.
I opened the box and the packaging was well done. I was short on time but I Did manage to pull the fuse out of the box. WOW. My big Moki 2.10 is gonna look like a .15 on this bird. It is big.
From what I could see the covering job was nothing short of perfect. I am in the middle of moving/remodeling so I will not be pulling everything out of the box for about 8 weeks but if the rest of the plane looks like the fuse, it is definately a winner. I have never seen this kind of quality in an ARF before. Thanks OMP .

I went with the MVVS 2.15 for my OMP ARF. After cutting both rails to accept the engine there is not enough left to bolt to. You need to install 1"x 3\8" x4"hardwood above and below the exsisting rails. I removed the cap strip on the nose and tunneled into the foam with a 1" wood chisel heated in a propane torch, then I epoxied the hardwood in the pockets. The Arf itself is not that great. I had to peel the covering off the rudder and sand it so it would line up with the fin, wasn't even close! The covering has lots of wrinkles and air bubbles. The mounting tabs on the root rib will crumble into pieces if you are not very carful with them, I reinforced mine with fiberglass cloth over the outside of each tab. All in all I am very disapointed with this ARF! For the money, I expected better.[&o]

dave what you describe is nothing like the one I recieved. Mine is Awesome outside of a slighly broken piece that I was able to fit in about 10 minutes. (and I must say OMP offered to send me a new fuse if I did not want to fix the tail).

The ARFs are designed to accept the OS 160 and comparable engines. Obviously if you decide to mount a bigger engine, you are responsible for the modifications. This will be true with any ARF you purchase.

Dave763,
Not sure how you had those problems with the MVVS. The opening is perfect for the OS 160 which is 62 mm and the MVVS is 66 mm. That would mean just shaving off a bit of rail on each and it would fit fine.
What are the measurements on your MVVS 2.15 between the holes?

RE: OMP 80" Edge ARF has arrived!
Just curious, how is the ARF balancing out? My choice now is between a Moki 180 (48 oz including muffler) and YS 140 DZ (34 oz including muffler). These actually have similar power, that is with 5% nitro on the Moki & 30% nitro on the DZ. My questions is, will I be able to balance it w/ the DZ w/o adding nose weight if I put battery next to the fuel tank?

I have 4 5625s 2 5925s and a standard servo for throttle.
2 Queations.
1 Where should I use the 5925s?
2 Will a 1200mah Nicad be enough for a few flights?
Thanks.

For 3D speed is required more for tail than for the wing. So it would be nice if you have:
3 5925's for 2 elevators & rudder
2 5625's for 2 ailerons
3 5925's for 2 elevators & rudder
2 5625's for 2 ailerons

RE: OMP 80" Edge ARF has arrived!
Got mine delivered today and it was very very well packed with plenty of padding. Everything is in perfect condition and the quality is outstanding. Don't have any fears about having this shipped to you...they obviously took great care in packing it for shipping.
