What is the Best AXI setup for 15oz 3D?
I've got a 15oz Depron model that does great on a Himax 2015/4100 and a GWS "D" gearbox w/ a 12x6 prop. Hovers at 1/2 throttle and pulls out w/ power to spare. 1500 3S Kokam.
I'm looking for the same performance from an AXI setup. Any suggestions?

I do not own one, but from what I've read the 2208/34 would be the axi motor of choice in that size but I think your weight may be the upper limit for 3D capability with that motor. Here are some specs according to parkflyermotors http://www.parkflyermotors.com/secur...d=354&catid=48
I own a himax 2025-4200 and have just purchased an axi 2820/20 but haven't received it yet. Both of these are larger than what you are using, and the axi I bought is a LOT larger, I've seen a lot of people using the 2208/34 in park flyer models under 16oz or so and from what I've seen they seem to happy with the performance. From studying specs the next size up from 2208/34 is a little ambiguous. but it would probably be one of the 2212 series. Hobby-Lobby claims the 2212 series is good for up to 28 oz planes, but I woud take that with a grain of salt. If I were you I would probably go for the 2208/34 and I think I may yet buy one someday whenever I get ready for a model that size.

The 2212/26 may be what you are looking for. Look at the specs on the Christen Eagle. This could show you everything you need:
