This is my favorite setup. It is on an OMP Edge .40 size.

The bracket is DuBro and the spring comes from a Sullivan tailwheel.
It is very tough (at least 100 flights, no problems) and was lighter than the stock wire skid.

You might try the Ohio Super Star. It is like a scale tail gear set up and works great on a 40 size profile. I use it on all my Xtreme Dreams and really like its' performance and its' good looks. It is about twice the price of the Sullivan tail gear (which I like too). I'll see if I can get a photo to post just in case you're not familiar with this gear.

I like dubro's because they're cheap! I go down to my local true value and get springs for like 75 cents a piece. I rig like the sullivan/dubro thing above.

All mine have DuBros, never a problem. I stick the wire into a plastic tube (ie nyrod) glued to the rudder, works great.

We're prototyping some adapter mounts for the DP wire mount. Don't have a wheel assembly mount but the conversion works great. Glass-filled nylon just like the KrazyLegs.
FYI.
