And after flying mine quite a bit this weekend, I like the 12X6SF the best....still. Granted, it draws the most amps of any prop I have, and it's spinning 1K past it's redline...but for shock and awe the 13X6.5 isn't near as good. Put 15 packs thru it in Tulsa, the most I put back into one was 1.9A, the lowest voltage at rest when I went to recharge was 11.1V

Chuck, are you using the apc or the gws SF prop. I have a couple gws 12 x 6 I use on the foamy but the prop hub seems kinda small to drill out for the cobri shaft. Now that Ive gotten use to it's vertical it doesnt seem as fast. I assume the 74 tooth spur would be better for the SF.. correct? ( I am using the 72, but have a new 74 to try)

No, the APC 12X6SF. I'm using a 70 tooth spur, you could try one on the 72 and see how you like it...

I got one I can let you have until yours gets in if you get into a bind for time. If I'll get another Taco-sized plane done before Nashville, it takes like 2 minutes to swap motors so I can have all the gear in it and just swap motors back and forth.

Why not shoot me an email, Stanooo...

The Lehner don't come with jack..but it would be a sorry motor for direct drive..maybe a 4.5X4.5 prop. However, if you put it in a gearbox, it will do better. I like the Cobri 20 gearbox, it comes with a 4mm collet prop adapter.

I'm starting to put together my shopping list for this winter project. I decided I need to have an E-Taco

Looks like I need to buy the following:

Lehner 1020/15
Phoenix 35
Cobri aluminum gearbox 12 tooth SS pinion, 70 tooth spur
Tanic pack:
[link=http://www.tanicpacks.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_25&products_id=98]http://www.tanicpacks.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_25&products_id=98[/link]

In an attempt to save a bit of money, would I be able to use these:
Motor: Razor 2500

LiPo packs:
I already have 4 3cell Etec 1200mah packs. Can I just use 2 of them and make a 3S2P pack? I figure the AUW would be around 160 grams. The Tanic pack is 176 grams.

If the LiPos would work, I could probably swing the Lehner motor.

With the lighter batteries and the lighter Razor, it would probably fly on the Razor if you can come in at 22~23 oz. But even a 3S2P Etec pack is only gonna be good for about 18A, that's probably what the Razor will draw.

Translation: Quit being a tight ***** and buy the Lehner. In the long run you will be happier, and save money because you will sell the Razor and get the Lehner eventually, anyway because you won't be happy with the Razor. I probably knew this before I even posted.....

If you already have the 2500, I'd try it. If you have to buy a motor, there's not a lot more difference (if you get the combo from B-P-P... the way he has it broken down, you get the motor for $115 if you had to buy an $85 ESC, or you get an $85 ESC for $65 if you just bought the $135 motor...anyway)
Also, if you have a Razor 2500, you could make a smoking Edgeling, or an Attitude, or that little E Flight Yak..

Don't have anything yet. I really want to start going on electric 25 sized planes. I'll go for the Lehner setup.

Thanks

I got to fly Chuck's Lehner set up on the E-Taco in Tulsa and it was awesome! I couldn't believe the vertical that thing had! I don't think that you'll go wrong with that set-up!

No, I don't have any way to take any video, or get video onto the computer, or host the videos. I have to rely on eye witness accounts! [8D]

And yes, I saw you video. I think your plane ROCKED!! Did you ever fix it??

I'll vouche for the harriers on Chuck's E-Taco. That thing does an awesome slow harrier! There was a slight breeze when I flew it, and if it had been my plane and I hadn't been worried about messing up someone else's plane I could have harriered it sitting still! Awesome plane, Chuck! Thanks for letting me fly it!
