Calling all Pro Bros who fly electric foamies.
Help me out guys. I need some info on getting electrified. Looking to build myself a foamie to have fun with and would really like some input on what to get. I know absolutely nothing about this little planes except I really want one. Who makes a good kit that is fairly simple to put together that flies like a real plane? I emailed JWilliams about a E- Sledge, but I am not really sure of what comes with the kit. I have also been looking at Troy Built Models. Any other good ones I should be looking at? What will I need to assemble it with as far as supplies? What gear to buy that is not real expensive. Will I need lipos? If so, I will also need to purchase a charger. Any suggestions?
Like always, thank all of you great guys for your valuable information.

I just took the jump into foamies myself. My plane should be here this coming week. I've already gotten everything else and can't wait to get started. I visited all the websites above and finally settled on 3Dfoamy.com. The planes there just look awesome to me.
Fancy foam seems to be pretty good too if you want a package deal. I kind of shopped around for my power system and receiver and servos and I think I spent right about the same amount as one of their packages. One more website I might recommend is www.allerc.com. I got really fast service from there. I ordered my motor/gearbox and speed control from there and it was shipped the next day. I had it in three days total. Can't beat that!
Have fun,
Michael

Thanks for the info guys. I kind like that 540 from fancy foam. You think it would fly alright with the standard gear or go for the beast?

Blue Ice,I have two of the Fancy Foam brushless set-ups.The edge flys awsome and there packages are a no brainer. No matter which route you go invest in brushless it is a blast.
