Default Midwest Hots II(Now it flies)

I'm relying on the ugly plane theory to have a longtime relationship with my new Hots

The more I look at it the better it looks, but man is it bright. My daughters (3 and 6) picked out the colors, and I thought for sure it would be butt ugly. Guess they have that knack for color coordination all women learn.

The #7 is in honor of my father, that was his number for just about everything.

It flies too, maiden today. Crappy weather, and still new Enya 50CX. I set the controls per plan and had very little ele control. Almost lost it landing. Beefed em up a bit and flew a few more circuts, things were better. Moves pretty quick at 1/2 throttle, didn't really open it up much.

Not hard to see on a rainy overcast day. I think I might like this one

I've flown a Big Hots before. It was my dads. Flew great with the G-62. It could really tear up the skies or you could tame it down like a ***** cat.

I had a yellow Hots like yours and lost it at dusk. It just kind of blended into the skyline. I had a total of three of the 40 size. A great plane. I still have a Super Hots with a MVVS 60 in it.

I've been looking for the plans or kit for a 40 or 60 size, can anyone tell me where to find them? Thinking it would make a great winter project.

I believe Model Airplane News has the plans for all of the Hots.

Anyone know how to get a kit of this from Midwest? Apparently there is a difference in the one Midwest Produced and the plans version from RCM.

My understanding is that it is no longer in production.

If you want the real deal.... go to http://www.dansantichmodels.com you can get plans and a video and some other stuff....I think Dan's son Steven may even start kitting it himself oneday..Dan Santich...if you were wondering...designed the hots...many versions of it. From my understanding, there are some people who are kitting the plane illegally..no names though. I recently took my plans and had them blow up...I'm going to be building a 120" span hots next year and can't wait.
