One more, Frank and Andrew flying together. Frank's doing a torque roll and Andrew's hovering. Check out how calm Andrew is while flying this thing (after less than 5 minutes!). A club member has some great video footage, hopefully this will be on line soon as well.

EPBF
Hey John, great minds think alike. Here's a pic of my Electric PBF which I have been flying for about three weeks. Made from foam board which started out as sturdy board from Walmart with paper removed (soak in bathtub). I started out at 15"x15" but decided it was a bit small requiring too much speed for my indoor flying ambition. So I added to it, now 18"x16", and it's flying great with an GWS EDF motor in a "D" gearbox with 9x7 prop on 7x280ma battery, haven't tried a 10x8 yet. I first flew it with an "A" motor, 10x4.7 prop on 8 cells and that was also good until I burned up the motor. Tomorrow I'll be finishing a new one that is 18"x18" and expect it to fly even better as it will have full length elevons and a little more wing area. The AUW of this one is just over 6.5oz. Let us know how yours works out and any improvments you come up with.

EPBF Bottom
Here's a pic of the bottom showing the balsa spine with approx. 4" pine motor mount stick up front. Spine and vert. fin are glued on with Elmer's wood glue. Pico servos are double stick taped on top, no rudder.

Another prop for the TT GP 42
If you're using this motor, give an APC 11.5 x 4 a try. Flew mine tonight with it, and was amazed by the power it puts out. 1/4 throttle is all you need to hover. With a 4 oz. tank you can easily fly for 15-20 minutes! Full power is a little scary, and definately don't try a full power launch It results in an instant torque roll, irregardless of attitude. Pretty cool watching the thing take off like arocket, spinning around from the torque Having a lot of fun, thanks guys!

Thanks for the pictures of your PBF. I'll be putting a new PBF together tonight and intend to use most of your ideas. I'm going to be extending the motor out away from the LE. It looks like you have yours about 1 1/2" from the LE. I'm Not sure if I'll go with the same style pvc fuse. I do however want the same rudder arrangement you have. My PBF right now with a 40LA is 2.2 lbs. I could call it kilo. I was at our field yesterday and flew the 36" PBF. You know, it sure does fly great when it's calm. The thing is absolutely uncontrollable when you try to fly with a full sock. It twists and warps so much. Even after I added 5/32 piano wire to the LE and TE. It flew like a cooked motorized lasagna noodle. I think I'm going to be cutting it up into one of those 32" flying floppy disks I've seen here. I'm pretty sure I'll be contacting James Goss for some ideas. Gotta get now. Thanks again for the ideas, help and great pics. Talk to you later,
Bruce

E-Squared
Hey John,
I got a chance to fly my new electric PBF, I'm calling it E-Squared. The 18" version works much better for indoor slow flight yet will still loop, torque roll and fly inverted in a small gym. It has 1:1 thrust to weight with the EDF motor in a D gearbox, 10x8 GWS prop and 7x280Ma battery. Here are a couple of pics of the two I have flying.

Thats great!
I tried all I could to make mine fly, just the prop, then I tied a EDF50 on it with the prop. Then I took the prop off and put another EDF50 on it and it still wouldnt fly, so I destroyed it.
Next step is a larger size I guess. Will do it in the next couple days.
Thanks for the info!
