Default Magic Extra

In the lastest Hobby People flyer they show a new Magic Extra 300L 46 ARF by Model Tech. The price seems right. Has anyone seen one, flown one or got one? I would be interested hearing what you think, good or bad. I have an OS 70 surpass that is looking for a home.

Thanks,

Steve

Mine is still on back order.
Can't find even one review on the web!
Only 2 pictures on the whole www?
Hope it comes in soon, otherwise I'll have to
order some skis for it.

You have to hunt for them!
When I found them, it sure looked like they were scanned out
of a catalog. (Hobby People?)
So if you have the catalog/flyer, you already have better pictures then you can find on the web

I have a buddy who was able to get me one that arrived this morning. I like it and it looks great. My engine of choice was going to be the O.S. 61 which should allow for excellent 3d performance.
If someone would like this airplane I would sell this one for the reason that I really would like to get the new Great Planes 3d airplane.

If you would be interested in it let me know...

Hi aerobat82, Glad to hear they are shipping.

Mine is still on BO with a TT Pro-46 (plus plugs props & etc) from Quantum Models. So, I guess I'm just going to have to wait a little longer (I hope).

Can you give us some details about the plane? Or maybe take some pictures? I'm dying to hear about the type of wing (is it a semi-flat-bottom?)

Thanks,
Rich

Default Well?

Is it too much to ask for a link or a PICTURE??!! I think this thing is a myth, should have called it the ModelTech Unicorn.

Hey aerobat, can you please post some pics from yours out of the box? Mainly a cross section of the wing halves would be great. I want to see if the wing is symmetrical, or asymetrical (like the magic). Also, if you have weights of the components, as well as quality and anything that looks out of the ordinary. Is the tail adequate for 3d manuevers or will it have to be enlarged? Are there counterbalances on the rudder and elevator? What % of fixed/movable are the tail surfaces? Whats the covering on the bottom of the plane look like? ETC ETC ETC

THanks,
Steve

Default Does anyone have any feedback on this?

Hello,

So does anyone have any flying time on the Model Tech Magic Extra or know of a review on it? Thanks in advance.

Patience man, patience!

The only known example out there is aerobat82's, and he got his through back channels. You'll see flight reviews shortly, I'm sure.

Hey, instead of sitting around asking if someone else has bought & flown the plane, why not be the first kid on the block to have one? Somebody's got to be first. If we all waited around for someone else to try the latest and greatest so WE didn't have to waste OUR money on a piece of junk, we'd all be living in caves. "Man, those house thingies look like they'd be just the ticket, but I'm gonna wait until someone else buys one just in case."

You know, that sounds awfully rude...

Default Patience?

I had my order in for a Magic on August 4th. After a couple of weeks, they told me they didn't know just when they would be in.
Then, the new model came out, so I changed my order to the 'Magic Extra' version. (and a larger engine).

All the radio gear has been sitting here in a box since August 10th. (ServoCity does it right).

I wonder if I should start shopping for some skis for the ME. It's getting to be fall in New England.
