Default Chrome drone

To be perfectly honest, the chrome looks better on the ground than to the eye in the air! It is tough to see unless it is "flashing" in the sunlight. When it is at an angle to the sky, it seems to reflect the suroundings and blend in. But, it sure looks cool!!!

Hi daniel, glad to see you built a fun 15, i'm sure you're enjoying it.

Have you made plans for your 3D? It looks very cool, unfortunately it will be quite a while before i'll be able to do any more building... but when i can i'd be interested in your design.

Both models look fantastic, i've got to use transparent ultracote on my next plane!

Here's a pic of my rebuilt Pizazz. Saito .91 for power
Nothing spectacular right? The picture was taken from my buddy's Goldberg Cub. Air to air photography with RC! You try it without turning your plane into sawdust.

thanks Mil, the covering is transparent Solarfilm (about 250gr saved in covering compared to monokote, really) and Litespan yet lighter but it is more paper like and has no iron-in glue, but Solarfilm is really great, light and resistent and more user friendly.

haha, yep if you want a piece of cut up wallpaper!! This was my first go at designing/building and it took me a weekend and 3 bottles of thin cyno , The basic outline was stolen off a ZNline madness and I tried to make it as light as possible and as large as possible for a 53 engine ,the wingspans nearly 70 inch and its quite light at under 4 pounds!!!!.. This thing floats and the wings so big I had to make it removable. I am at the moment adding some more structure to the front end because im really scared its gonna snap in half, haha.

Snap, whats a snap!! haha. The answer is no, it mushes, it does spin though, im thinking of adding some ballast.
Daniel, your plane is awesome, I could never have the patience to scratch build a funfly like that, they hit the ground way too easy for me to put that much effort in.

Im actually thinking its all to do with wingloading, these funflys are so light with such large wings its just imposible to stall the wings in a flying situation, a snap roll needs the wing to be stalled. Probably the length of the fuse doesnt help either. If you look at the seduction the wings are actually really small in comparison with the weight and length of the fuze meaning they have a higher wingloading, these things seem to snap like a conventional plane. Can anyone add to this??

This is only food for thought:

I have an 84" with a 3.2 on it and the leading edge is fairly blunt except right at the center where it is sharp and the trailing edge of the ailerons is not rounded but a 3/16's wide with a 90degree sharp top and bottom edge. This plane because it has a thick airfoil is a *****cat until your really crank the throws up. It will do knife edge spin.

The reason that I am mentioning this is that if you combine the sharp surfaces and a C/G back, as you can bare and still enjoy the plane, you should be able to get the plane to do all that you want.

BTW with the C/G back on my Great Planes Spacewalker I can get it to Lumchevok (where is spell check when you need it).

Take care Jim
