Pro twister Maiden flight
Hey everyone
I just did the first flight on the PT! This is the first time i fly a profile/3D plane and it's AWSOME! Today got to the field early and i let my friend "sentella" (Senetella means Thunder, wonder why the call him like that huh?) do the maiden flight as i'm still on the steps of being a better pilot. first time i got my hands on the controls was great. I first tried it with the low rates and it was like flying a kadet Trainer again! Super stable and floats like a bubble! Turned the high rates on and that thing rolls like there no tomorrow! Harrier havering is easy with this one...Overall..a great experience!
Well whadaya say want a profile brother from PR?? What do i have to do to join??

Sure thing Gator! Would love to see what you have come up with the covering for this one! In those pics the under part of the wing doesn't have any stripes in a few minutes it will i was in kind of a rush to finish it so i skipped that part until i could try it out i couldn't wait. I went out today to the field again to try it out some more..this plane is amazing I LOVE IT!! Here the guys at the field have a nickname for profile planes, since there's only like 3 of us that have profiles...They call them the "porkchops" or Chuleta in spanish, Well today i went to try it somee more like i said before i love it! A reminder to everyone put the rubber hose arround the clevises!!!!!!!!!! Today one of the aileron clevices came off...i noticed that the plane was responding kindda eratic and sluggish i'm lucky i didn't loose that plane. Oh as for engine i have a .46 towerhobbies engine with a Macs tunned pipe. That thing has monster power but it isn't very reliable for the kindda flying a profile does...i'm not sure... anyone have a comment on that??

PR,
i had sooooo much trouble with my tower hobbies 46 i finally sent it back for a refund...just could not get the thing to run reliably. tower was good about it.....no problems. now have a os46 fx haven't run it yet but have never been let down by an os yet.Plus it has received excellent reviews here on RCU.

Yeah i know what you mean. The first one i received from them was defective. I had to return it and they sent me another one. They're no good. Some guys at the field have had problems with them too. Actually they're a bit more powerful than the O.S. FX but i preffer to have the reliability of the O.S. ten times over the TH engine. Pretty soon i'll be getting one for the PT. probably put a mousse can pipe on it after i break it in good.

WAY!!!!!!
Ever since OS went to the FX design, they don't perform anything like the old SF series. I would gladly take a TT or Mecoa (old SF design) over any of the FX's (IMHO). If I was going to pay the money for an OS, then I buy a Webra (which I do). IMHO - Far superior. I realize that this is just an opinion. An old machinist told me once when I as a young engineer -
"If you have an a**hole, then you have a right to an opinion. Now whether that opinion comes from an a**hole or not is another opinion altogether, thereby; its just once vicious circle of life!"
Words of wisdom!
PR_Supersports - where are you flying in Puerto Rico? I was there not too long ago on business. I drove both the northern and southern route and didn't see very many potential flying sites. My business was in Mayaguez. I will be back to PR again, I am sure. Wanted to know out of curiousity - Thanks!

Personally, I haven't run the Tower, nor been exposed to one for that matter, so I can not honestly say one way or the other in that particular comparison.
Sorry TEX!

Hey Gator,
How do you do the "curvy" checkerboard on the bottom of the PT?
Is it cut out by hand?
What about the alignment, the lines seems to join perfectly?
BTW - Mono or Ultracoat?

That looks cool gator! wish i had that kind of art to monokote like that! Maybe i can borrow some form ya sometime
Kevin we fly in a county called Moca. It's like 45 minutes from mayaguez. If you came here trough the San Juan airport it's like going to san juan from mayaguez...that is if you take the #2 state highway...the place is property of the goverment and it's actually an emergency landing runway t is listed on aerial maps. The place is beautiful and there's space to spare..Ultralights have a club there and some small aircraft land there on the weekends
if you ever come back to PR and want to fly let me know i'll give you directions to the place....
