Tulsa ProBro fly-in The PBF
Hi all. The Tulsa, and surrounding area, fly in is set. The date is June 28th. We will call this the Poor Boy Flyin (PBF). I hope it won't offend the ProBro's, but we are also including SPADS in this event. We wanted to do a SPAD event also and thought, "hey, why not both?"
We are even going to set aside the Helicopter runway (90 degrees off the N. end of the regular runway) for Pizza Box activities and combat.
All types of Funfly, spad, and of course, PROFILES are welcome, and 3D will be the order of the day.
Details:
Landing fee of $5 for all day (and night) flying, drinks and snacks for pilots.
Lunch will be all-you-can-eat pizza for another $5
Dinner at a local Mexican restaurant for those that want to, and then night flying.
Sunday will be open flying. We have a pretty loose club so hang around and have a good time!
We may have some events (perhaps PBF Rodeo?) if there is interest.
Ask away, and details to follow!

I mantioned the fly-in at the last meeting and they are going to post it in our news letter. So, I need to know a few things. I have the date. But, I need time it starts and were the field is.

The start time is 10AM but the field will be open ealier of course. The Best way to get diections is by looking at the map on the club web site:

I hope it won't offend the ProBro's, but we are also including SPADS in this event. We wanted to do a SPAD event also and thought, "hey, why not both?"

No flyer yet Tattoo, I'm working on it and will post a link when their done. I need to get it posted on the SPAD site too. I was thinking about asking if you might come down from KS to show us what the King of SPAD can do!

...why do you think Spad exists in the first place?
As for flying abilities...ohhhhhhbooooooooy
...been flying 3 channel belly landing combat planes for waaaaaaay to long...just now getting my landing gear brain back...and that darn rudder thumb...the videos I'm seeing here blow me away...I've got a LOT of learning up to do! :surprised

Can't guarentee if I can make it down there...but it sure looks like a blast! I used to fly in Tulsa when I was going to school there (Spartian)...but that was over 20 years ago!

Float Flying
Forgot to mention we have a small pond we've been float flying on, right at the field, trees have been cleared, and we even put in a dock. We've never had a big bird on it, but many 40 and smaller planes have had great success.

The very closest is:
Best Western , Glennpool (5 minutes from the field)
(918)322-5201
Other options:
Super 8 Sapulpa (a bit farther, and harder to get there, but cheaper)
(918)227-3300
Motel 6 West Tulsa (farther, about 15 or 20 minutes, but cheapest)
(918) 445-0223
There are lots of fleabags on I-44 on the west side of Tulsa that would work, but I wouldn't bother.
Let me know if those don't work and I'll check around. The Best Western is really easy access and plenty of services nearby.

Spadfest is in the books and we had a BLAST dispite lots of rain and mud...36 registered pilots from 14 states showed and many are hungry for more! Keep the Poorboy pumped up here and at Spadworld and I betchya you'll get a great showing...BTW...we're planning on it! Oh yeah, if anyone is interested, here's some pic from Spadfest

We would be honored if you came, and we won't even make you make a speech!!! We're getting very excited, and I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with to much work and too little time for RC!!! Right now I'm sacrificing flying for PBF Planning. But it will be worth it!!!

I checked the file name of the jpg's and came up with this:

Which means your image link is directly to your computer...so it would work for you, but not on the internet. (I think that's right...I'm pretty much lost with computers)...maybe someone else will know for sure!
We are really hoping to make it down there...we drove right through Tulsa on the way back from Memphis...and coming back next month sounds like a plan
