Default Ordered the Exteme Flight 60" Edge profile

I finally ordered the Extreme fligth 60" edge profile today. As of this morning Chris said he only had about 80 left. He said people are ordering them everyday. So if you want one out of the first shipment, you better act fast.

I was talking to Chris, and asked him how far down on the list I was. I asked him if Gator, or Texas 3D (Ulf) has order one already. He said I was below them. So I asked him how I could get above them 2. I want to get mine before they do.

So needless to say, I let him bill me a little extra so I could get higher up on the list. So looks like I am getting one before Gator and Texas 3d.

I am just joking about sliding Chris a little extra to move up on the list.

I plan on using a OS91FX. As for servos I haven't really made up my mind yet.

Wayne I know you flew this plane. How did you like it. I am hoping it is what I am looking for. I normally don't ever buy a plane that I haven't done my homework on. But I am stepping out on a limb. I know I have done this before, and believed all the hype, and was disappointed. But it looks like it has some great potential.

If the weight comes in right. It should be a great airplane. But as we all know manufactors tend to understate their weight on planes.

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to bash Chris or his company extreme flight in anyway. To my knowledge he has been a flyer for years, and starting a company with some great designs. I think his designs look to be way above most manufactors. I think his company will do great. I think he is hitting the market where not many companys care about. The .60size market, and the market for a good 50CC motor. I wish him the best.

I have flown most of all the profiles that are out there. Including the larger ones Like the Morris .60 Su-do-Khoi.
I liked that plane but my complaint with it was it comes out too heavy for the wing that comes in the kit.. LOL

I flew the P-Edge with a Saito 1.00 and it was a great combination.
I like the way the plane was built. VERY light construction, Huge surfaces, airfoiled tail, removable wings, accessible radio compartment, great hardware etc.

I think the advertised weight is going to be very close to what you get. I dont remember the weight on the plane I flew but even if its a little more than advertised the ample wing area will handle it.
Lets say it winds up at 8 pounds. (5 to 7 advertised) With 940 Sqin of wing the wing loading comes out to 19 oz/sqft. VERY light.

You are right. Chris is hitting the market with the right approach. He knows whats out there. Or, I should say, whats NOT out there. He designed his stuff to be unique and to fly like we want them to.

I have not ordered mine yet. I was so disappointed that Gator got in front of me, that I will probably give up RC and just dedicate my free time to oil painting or learn to cross stitch. LOLROTF.
Nonononono....I didn't order it because I want to wait for the YAK profile, and order that one. I also need to heal my wallet first from the 33% Extra purchase. It got hit pretty good !

Wayne,

I flew the Su-do-Khoi for the first time yesterday. The plane flew great. I thought it felt heavy when I carried it but it sure did not show it in the air. I can only imagine how good these Extreme planes are going to fly. Do the wings come off on the Edge?

I'm in line for mine too. I have a Saito 100 to put on mine. Chris said his weight with a Saito 100 was 7 pounds. He used to work at National Hobby Supply and was always very helpful. I really liked the prices there, too bad they went out of business.

I may go with JR 4721's for the wings and 8411's for the tail.

Are there any pics of this plane you guys are talking about. I see nothing at Chris's website. I just bought a Yak 87 NIB from someone here at RCU with a DA50. I wouldnt mind having another EF plane(besides my girlfriends 68" Yak) in my hanger.

Uhmm...just a side note guys...this thread was more than 2 years old before you bumped it? I don't know if Extreme Flight still sells the plane though.

The 60" edge that is being referred to is not available. Basically Chris ordered the planes and they were not up to his quality, so he rejected most of them but did accept a few of them. He has yet to receive those, so who knows where they are. I saw on TOC1's website what looks to be the same plane, but not positive that it is. I too hope that EF will get these some day.
