I'm guessing it wouldn't be to hard to convert that katana for the RCGF 20cc. let us know how it goes with cyclone! If its worth it I may just have to get one myself.[8D]

I've sent for a price quote. I will let you know what it is....They usually take about a day to respond....After all, they are probably sleeping right now!

Crystal sent me a price of $250.00 + shipping.....
I'm leaning towards the Katana from Texas Rc and do the mod for the 20cc I have. I think it makes more sense. Especially since both my 20cc and the 26cc has the same HP rating...What do you guys think?

yeah, I'll go with that other katana... 250+shipping is a bit much for that little plane... I paid that much for my 88" extra I bought from them...
You know, the price she quoted you probably was with the engine.

Yes, The price From Cyclone was for the Katana and 26cc Combo. Still their shipping isn't cheap and I can get the same Katana from Texas RC for about $140 bucks including shipping....So far its a no brainer.....Just wished the Yak 54 that you guys have was still available....

T3Beatz-Don't know if you still monitor this thread, but I need to ask a question. I bought the Kat V2 70 and am ready to mount the engine. Instead of the 20cc RCGF, I bought a DLE-30 and want to try it first...The two are exactly the same weight....What I need to know is, have you had any problems with the Aluminum Angle that you are using for the motor mount? I think I got the same stuff as you..The 1 inch Angle that Lowes sells. Its only about a 1/16" thick and was wondering how it is holding up. I can't wait to get this done and in the air....Should be a blast to fly if the DLE doesn't rip the wings off it....I'll post some pics when I get it done.

Some pics of what I got done tonight...I'll have to put everything on the plane in order to tweak the C/G....Its close but I think I'll have to move the mount and engine back a bit. At least I have room, plus it will bring the spinner back plate closer to the nose of the plane...

Looks good! yeah, it looks as if you can slide it back another inch or so to bring the CG back. with that 30cc DL on there it should be a power house!!

RE: RCGF 20cc gas engine on a 63
I made the mounts after I posted yesterday, and to my surprise the Aluminum Angle is quite strong.....Your right, the airframe will fail before the mount does! I have about an inch and a half that I can move the mount back to get the C/G right.....I'm thinking I might need all of it. One good thing is it will bring the spinner closer to the nose of the plane where it should be...
If this thing performs like it should, might just be the funnest plane in my hanger! Although there is a big "Ta Do" about how the DLE 30 runs. Mainly around idle speeds...Check the FG site, there is a huge thread about it....I'm hoping for the best. This little engine has a lot of potential....
When I'm finished, I'll check back here and post a few pics of the progress. Hopefully we'll get some flying weather this winter so I won't have to wait till spring for the maiden. This is going to be fun!

Here is a video of my 63'' profile breaking the wing. It had been in a crash and my repair job didnt work opps. It had a crrc 26 on it. Fortunately I have 2 more I bought from ebay when it was on sale for around 80 bucks. I am putting them together now hope to be done soon. Also check out my other videos some are ok...lol

Wow that was a big crash!! I don't know if they will be selling these anymore ( I wish they did!) I still have my last one, it just needs minor repairs. It will be ready to fly this spring.

WOW
That hurts just to watch.
Did you ever determine what caused the wing to break loose?
Good to hear that you have another one. I wish I would have bought more than one when I bought mine.
Keep us posted.
