Default 55AX on a Mojo 40.

So what should I do to it to make it as 3d capable as possible. I was thinking about replacing the stock muffler with a tower muffler, is this a good idea? Also whats the best prop for this engine?

The only improvements over that motor from stock are remove the baffle in the exhaust. Or- Replace the stock exhaust with a macs one piece to save an ounce and a half but no performance increase.

That motor or the Saito 82 are the premium choice for 3D. The tower muffler will hurt your 3D low end as it acts more like a tuned pipe. Great for wide open throttle but sucks for 3D. 95% of 3D happens below 1/2 throttle. Build it and run it stock and then see what YOU think.

Okay and the macs one piece is the black pipe about the same length as a stock one correct? And what about the BEST prop for this engine?

Yes the black muffler from macs. it is way lighter but not any better performance wise. 55AX really likes the 13x4APC (not W) or the Xoar 13x4 wood to save a little more weight.

Would the macs and the xoar be your set-up, I like the idea of saving that weight!

Yep. I have that exact setup and one with a Saito 82. Really like the Saito as well.
Here is a video of Dave flying the Chinn Yak (same weight as the MoJo) with a 55AX and a 13x4.
