RE: Scratchbuilt Edge profile
I tried hand launching them trucks but just couldn't get them to fly... Brian said the covering should be in wed morning I'll pick it up thur or fri. Biggs ,you know anything about them Dave Brown pushrod kits??.. I don't want to loose another plane to a pushrod issue......Doubt it will be ready by wed.. To tired to work on it today. Still have to cut servo holes and locate the balance point so I can put the fueltank in the fuse.. And of course the covering is going to take a while with that PITA scheme I decided to do LOL !!!!.. No hurry, maybe by next month it will be ready ..

RE: Scratchbuilt Edge profile
I figured as much ..Brian was telling me about them after I asked him if he has carbon fiber small enough to fit over 4/40 threaded rod. I read a recent article in airplane news where they used a carbon fiber sleeve slid over the entire length of dubro threaded rod with about an inch left exposed on each end then capped the ends with short pieces of aluminum tube and locked it all together with 4/40 nuts to span a gap greater than 5" on a 40%er. Nice strong setup.... and no weak spot to worry about failing because of the constant rod....

RE: Scratchbuilt Edge profile
Well my load got canceled so I worked all night on the plane and started covering today. Got the bottom of the stab and elevators also got the rudder done. Cutting all those 3" squares wasn't all that bad. Have to cut a bunch more for the bottom of the wings.

Started on the wings. got the bottom done. Still have to do the bottom of the ailerons..I really like this ultracote..I figured out it works better when you follow directions on the temp settings.

You know you can't fit this plane in your garage...Last time I looked you didn't even have room for a foamy.[sm=lol.gif]....Get working on that Taylorcraft so I can have a relaxing plane to fly.....Sitting around all day doing nothing....You should be ashamed of yourself... I know how you like bipes..I got a real sweet deal for you..me and the daughter just finished it up...On second thought it might be to much plane for you.... Here's a picture for you...

It's a couch arf..You can fly it with one hand and it doesn't need any of them fancy electronics..It does have somewhat of a limited range. If you have long arms you can get out farther..It's probably something that would suit you..LOL !!!. Like I said it's an arf so you would probably want to do a "BUILD THREAD" on it..........

With the big open bays in this wing it was going to be to problematic to use my original color scheme so I opted for a more basic scheme..I still have to add some red trim between the yellow and blue.

Ok here's what I ended up with... the first picture has color issues[X(], It's safety yellow , dark blue with flame red..Put it together to get an idea of what it will look like in the air. Guess I should have wiped my finger smudges off first lol!!!

RE: Scratchbuilt Edge profile
Not sure ..I could go yellow with red squres but I wanted it to contrast a bit, but like you said the rudder is so big that it really sticks out in black and white. I kinda like the contrast myself......
