Do ya scratch your slabs?
um, er., I mean do you design and scratch build profiles? I started doing this a few years ago. Saved me some time and money during the initial 3D learning curve. I haven't come up with anything new or amazing, but I have had a lot of fun. What about you? Got any pics? Design ideas?

RE: Do ya scratch your slabs?
So far I have built about 13 or 15 balsa profiles and about 15 or more foamys .I have learnt a alot building my own planes and saved a lot of money from buying arfs and crashing them to bits .The first 5 balsa profiles i built were covered with packing tape, and then i started buying the covering from hobby city which works really well ,and I have gone from square wings to tapered wings .I like how the profiles i build fly and got to the point where i dont think i would buy planes from manufacturers again any way here are some pictures.

Cool,
I am just getting into the foomie indoor jobs. I bought a couple used ones at a swap meet and don't see a reason I can't cutout my own. I may damage these, some how and will have to replace them . I still can't figure how these planes break, I mean just because I hit a wall, etc???????
I have seen plans to cut foom, I will have to look it up and get into it. You got any ideas for cutting foom, I read some where they used a old model train transformers and wire to make a hot wire cutter.
thanks for the pic's
sticks

Hi stick 40 i just used a hobby blade i got from the hardware store ,If youre cutting depron make sure you have a fresh blade otherwise it will tear the depron and wont cut it nice and clean,to you can get the hobby knifes from hobby city which is what i use now, 5 for 60 cents.
