Default park flyer question

I have a buddy that i am trying to help get started in rc so he and his young son can spend some quality time together but he needs a park flyer and I have not owned an electric in 20 years and haven't owned anything smaller than a .60 size in 15 years. I need some advice on which kit would be best for him. He needs soemthing he can fly at a baseball park or a small grass field. He needs something that includes radios, battery, and motor, an ARF or ready to fly would be ideal and he doesn't have a very large budget. He can only afford about $250 or so. I think a three channel would be best, those pesky alleirons might complicate things a bit too much for him. which kit would ya'll recommend?

that's a very nice plane and affordable too.......with a budget of $250.00 that leaves plenty of change for some extra batteries.......be patient, other pilots will chime in here shortly........(KOOLKRABBER47).......

Wow, thats a cool little kit at a great price! I like the ACT thing. It's amazing how much electrics have advanced in the last 20 years. My dad and I belong to the Eglin Aero Modelers club but everybody out at the field, at least that I am aware of, is into big 3D or scale stuff. There's nobody flying small electrics, every last bit of disposable income that most of those guys have is wrapped up in tandem axle trailers, and big 3D's! Not much to be Gleened from there, that's why I posted here. I figured this was an RCU worthy question! Thanks for the advice guys! Anybody else have anything better that I should look at? It might be hard to beat the cub.

How about starting with something like this: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=10519. Many would not recommend it as a beginner airplane, but I do because it takes a beating. Disabling ailerons might even work. All items needed are available in the same website. You will be ready for about US$ 150 and save US$ 100 for your next plane.
