Here is the completed version with the longer nose. I added two quarters to the tail to balance (at 3 3/4" back).

Looks good!

Today was a great day! The Ashley's flew great without much trim.

I balanced both models at 3 3/4" back from the front of the wing.

At this balance point the model tracks well and the elevator is very effective. About 1/8" throw was used for up and less was used for down.

Default In the Red Zone

Jordon Peace and I flew a few more models. Jordon got his first flight on a Q40 today.

I think he is hooked.

It was pretty obvious who painted all these as they are all red.

We were in the zone, "The Red Zone". I can't wait to race these as they are fast!

Both versions are fast.

This past weekend the long nose version placed 3rd at the Mile High Challenge in Littleton Colorado.

Default Build an Ashley MM

There are a few Ashley MMs under construction. Below are some of the locations and settings:

  1. The CG should be located approximately 3 3/4" from the leading edge of the wing (at the wing saddle).
  2. The axles should be approximately 2 1/2" from the leading edge of the wing (at the gear).
  3. The low rate elevator throw is approximately 1/8" up and less down. High rate is slightly more throw.
  4. The low rate rudder throw is approximately 1/4" each way. You hold full rudder on launch. High rate should have lots of throw.
  5. The low rate aileron throw is approximately 3/16" each way. High rate should have lots of throw.
