Q40 clevis
What do you guys use for an elevator clevis? Worried that this will wear through the plastic on a normal clevis. Metal will definitely wear, already tried it.

RE: Q40 clevis
Hayes steel pin clevis. A dab of grease on the pin prior to installation is good.

RE: Q40 clevis
I've always used plastic clevis'.. I haven't had one wear out yet in quickie or Q40.. The only time I've had a plastic clevis fail was due to a midair, and since they're pretty hard to control with a missing wing, I don't figure it matters too much. ;)

RE: Q40 clevis
I use the black hayes clevis with metal pin for everything. Not had an issue yet.

RE: Q40 clevis
Use plastic on metal, and metal on plastic. For some reason this combination does not wear very fast. But plastic on plastic and metal on metal wear faster. Be sure to debur any hole used in a metal horn.

RE: Q40 clevis
I use a Sullivan clevis with purple locktite on the rod and pot the clevis to the yoke with silicone rubber. Never come loose and will always be dampened. Make sure not to glue to fuse side. Not enough movement to inhibit travel.
