KCRC Fall 424/426 2-Day Race
It is once again time for the KCRC Fall 2-Day Q-500 Pylon Race, the Big One. This year KCRC has added the soon to be rule book event 426 due to popular demand.
Last year KCRC had 29 registered pilots and we’re expecting a better turn-out for these two 1 day race events. That’s a lot of points on the table for those in the hunt for the District 5 424 Lead Goose Trophy. Fast time will again be cumulative for both days.
Highlights:
Judgeman Digital Light System
Experienced work force including this year’s NATS Assistant Starter
Large turnout forecasted (30+ 424 pilots)
Great flying site
Tough competition
Short course action
Dan “Chop” Ulledahl Saturday night cook-out
Duane Hulen has promised warmer weather then the record lows we had last year
Easy picking Flatlander pilots everywhere
WIPRO pilots disorientated by western location in the district
Final race for the MOKAN and District 5 Lead Goose point chases
The planning group met last night to finalize the organization for this event.
Complete details here:

Hope to have a great turn-out. Let the bench racing begin!

We will see who the easy pickings are next weekend at the Flatlanders race in Wichita.
Don't worry Show-me pilots, Once again the Flatlander pilots will be nice and provide lead planes to help guide you around the course.
If needed we will throttle back so you don't get too far behind and lose your way![sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Donkey background for those reading and wondering what the heck is going on.
Rusty Van Baren told a story at the Phoenix Q-40 race this year that goes something like this:
“If you look at the pilots in your heat and don’t see a donkey (easy pickings), YOU’RE THE DONKEY.”
In this part of the country we’ve added the sound effect “Hee-Haw” to help reinforce the donkey concept. Eddie, knows…
Good times.

Every heat in the Q40 finals at the Nat's I cracked off a Hee-Haw when the clock was down to 5 sec.. Except for the last heat where I did it right before we started up.. AJ knew I was going to do it to try and throw him off a little, didn't throw him off but was funny none the less.

AJ - since it's two, one day races, I'll be there on Sunday. My wife has tickets to the University of Minnesota football game on Saturday, so we'll be up there Sat, drive home Sat evening, and I plan to race 424 and 426 on Sunday - provided I don't crash my only 426 plane tomorrow in Wichita!
I plan on teaming up with DHG on Sunday. I think he'll be looking for a caller on Saturday, though. Wish I could be there both days, but the two day trip to Minnesota sounded like fun, too. This way I can do both, thanks for making it a two day event!

How much is USC favored to win by?
gotta be 20+
Nice stadium, you will enjoy, weather should be nice. You'll be driving about 15 miles from my house when you pass Cabellas in Owatonna

Do you know if the Minneapolis Town Hall brewery is still in business? We've been there a couple of times back when our daughter was in school at the U. She's playing in the alumni marching band at the game, hence the trip.
That, and we'll probably hit the hard rock cafe while we're up there.
You coming down for the race? AJ throws a great race, the KCRC club does a nice job of running an event. It will be a good weekend!

I have no idea on the Town Hall brewery, never even heard of it, but its a big city. Your packing a lot into one day there!
Nope, not making the trip, only raced twice this year, might make the last Minneapolis race on 10/2.

Glad to hear the bionic eyes are working. One of mine is still pretty fuzzy with scar tissue. Maybe flying one-eyed will improve things for me!
One thing's for sure - that ugly white airplane of mine won't look quite as ugly if I can only vaguely see it in the air....

We've all been a Donkey at one point or another. Eddie has probably been one more then others but there's no reason to pick on Flatlanders like that...

RE: KCRC Fall 424/426 2-Day Race
Just checked the weather its supposed to be sunny and low 70's, last year we had 29 entries that has to be one of the largest 424 races I have ever heard of, and this year we are adding the Jett class 426. Should be able to break the 30 mark with more people flying 2 classes. Last year we had people from Arizona, Colorado, Texas, and the wipro guys. It would be nice to get some of the Caps guys to come. Chop Ulledahl is planning another BBQ saturday night with some of your favorite cold beverages. Hopefully you are all planning on coming, I am frantically trying to get some airplanes together after having a terrible weekend at Wichita, but is was all my fault. [&o]
See ya saturday,
Duane
