    Built up Viper wing plans?

Has anyone ever gone to the trouble to draw up a set of plans for a built-up version of the Viper/Venom/Snaker wing? If so, let us know, and if not, then I guess I'll draw some and post them. Some guys just like built-up wings, especially for the entry-level events.

I realize that it would not likely be competitive in 424, 426, or 428, but it should be just fine in Q-25. That, plus it would look cool and there would be lots of nice balsa splinters after a mid-air...

RE: Built up Viper wing plans?

Gary, my BuckShot and HoleShot had the option of a built up wing. If built correctly they were great with plenty of strength for 424. I think I have the Viper wing drawn up somewhere that I was going to experiment with. Let me check tonight when I get home.

    Hi Bob:

I figured if anyone had already done it, that it would be you. Thanks for checking, If not, then I'll probably sorta copy your BuckShot layout but using the S8064 airfoil.

    Thanks!

RE: Built up Viper wing plans?

Basically that's what I did!! I also have it for the 66-012 airfoil also. The only issue is the leading and trailing edge stock. I custom cut mine on the table saw and use the 3/4 x 3/16 regular trailing edge stock for ailerons. Here are some of my Buckshot Quickie 25s with built up wings.

I had a great time with my built up BuckShot till turn 2 took it away from me.[&:]

Most likely fading away till the My Forums is fixed. Too bad.
